I am struggling right now.
Friday was one of the sickest days of my life. I finally made it to the hospital Friday evening, with Dave's help, where I stayed for a while and received IV fluids and meds. Today, I went back to the hospital for another treatment (had to leave work early). The treatment should have lasted approximately 2 hours; I was there for almost 5 hours.
They almost admitted me today after my blood pressure dropped to 86/36. They were freaking out about that, but after more IV fluids and meds, we were able to get it back up to 99/60, which is the norm for me. Thus, I was allowed to go home.
I am very weak. I am very sick. Tomorrow I will begin home health care. Lots of meds were delivered to my house tonight. A nurse will come tomorrow and teach me how to give myself the treatments I will need on a daily basis.
I will have an IV that stays in my arm, and I will be able to receive nutrition, along with all of my meds, through my IV each day. This will probably last for a while. I do not know what is going to happen. I am just glad I can learn how to administer my own treatments at home.
I also had some problems with blood test results. One part of the blood test was low, so I had meds for that, too. That all seems to be fine now.
My white blood cell counts are good, which means there are no infections. I have been struggling against female organ problems for 10 years now. On March 4, I will meet with my doctor and discuss the possibility of a hysterectomy in the future...after I get through the rest of this. I am only worried about HRT, since I have such issues with taking meds. If I do not get a hysterectomy, I believe it will be one thing after another...forever.
I have been blessed with being able to create a beautiful family, despite all of these *issues* along the way. I look forward to the day when I can quit feeling sick once and for all and simply enjoy my family. 10+ years is enough of this "stuff".
Let me just add...Dave has been wonderful. He has been Mr. Mom, Dr. Dave, Mr. Housekeeper, and Mr. Do-It-All. Seriously, he has been amazing.
